Add your business to the only independent Northlander directory.
Restaurants, shops, inns, tours, outfitters, galleries, patios worth planning a stop around. If travellers should know about it, we want to add it. Editors review every submission by hand.
Fill in the basics. We add the rest.
Not sure if you are already listed?
Get noticed. Get chosen.
Every listing lands on its own stop page next to photos, hours, and a way to save you to a trip plan. You start on the Free tier for as long as you like. Here is what a First Class listing looks like once you upgrade.
- Photo, name, and a short description a traveller can scan in two seconds
- Verified Business badge and (on First Class) a Featured slot on your stop page
- A discount tag if you want to reward Northlander riders
- A one-tap Save to trip that lands you in their itinerary
Here is what you can do with it
Start free. Travellers plan before they board. Verified businesses with richer photos and the daily Featured slot are the ones they save first.

Onboard and First Class activate the moment your listing is live. First step is submitting the form above; then a claim invite lets you flip the tier on from your dashboard.
Good to know before you submit
Is submitting really free?
Yes. The Free tier is free forever. No card at signup, no expiry, no bait-and-switch. Onboard and First Class are optional upgrades if you want more photos, a Verified badge, a discount for travellers, or the daily Featured slot.
How long does approval take?
Usually 1 to 3 business days. A real editor reads every submission by hand and adds an editorial blurb where it helps. If you attach a photo, that speeds up review.
What if my business is already on the guide?
Use at the top of the page. If you are already listed, you can claim your existing listing (no need to resubmit). If something on your existing listing is wrong, you can also request a correction and an editor will fix it.
Can I edit my listing after submitting?
Yes. Once approved, you get an email with a magic-link invite to claim your listing. From your dashboard you can edit your description, hours, phone, website, and photos (as many as your tier allows).
What if I do not have a photo?
Photos are optional. Your listing will display a warm category illustration until you add one. You can upload a photo any time from your dashboard once you have claimed the listing.
Do you charge to be on the guide?
No. Free stays free forever. You can run a full Free listing for as long as you want. Onboard and First Class are optional upgrades that add the Verified badge, more photos, the discount tag, and (on First Class) the daily Featured slot. Both include a 14-day free trial with no card required at signup.
Northlander Guide is an independent labour of love. I built it because when the train came back to Northern Ontario, no directory did justice to the small businesses that make a stop worth stepping off for. Every listing you see here was added by a person who thought a traveller should know about it. If yours belongs, we want to add it.
